Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its Governance in Healthcare
Learn the applications of AI in healthcare and how to lead safe and responsible implementation.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already embedded in healthcare, influencing diagnosis, decision-making, workflows and patient safety. This course provides a practical, governance-focused introduction to AI in healthcare, helping participants understand not just what AI can do, but how it must be safely implemented and overseen.
Explore the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, including machine learning and generative AI, and how these technologies are used across clinical, operational and administrative settings under human leadership.
Your focus will be on AI governance issues and frameworks, important for approval processes, accountability, privacy, and risk management. Key risks include bias, automation error and model drift, and how these risks can be managed through clinical governance systems.
Led by healthcare consultant and strategist Pieter Walker, the course translates complex concepts into practical considerations for healthcare organisations. It supports participants to balance innovation with safety, accountability and trust, recognising that AI augments clinical judgement rather than replacing it.
It is designed for clinical leaders and decision-makers who want to build the knowledge and skills needed to lead through complexity and uncertainty with confidence.
This is a 3‑hour training session. We acknowledge attendance and time spent in learning which may be used to apply for CPD points from your professional registration body.
